Inaugural Horse Camp 2024 by Carroll County 4-H: A Day of Free Equestrian Exploration!

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ill. - Saddle up for a brand-new adventure with Carroll County 4-H's inaugural Horse Camp 2024! Designed to ignite a love for horses and riding, this one-day camp offers an exciting opportunity for young equestrians to learn, grow, and connect within the vibrant Carroll County community. Best of all, it's entirely FREE and open to all youth ages 8 and older!

Set to take place on June 1, at the Carroll County Fairgrounds in Milledgeville], Horse Camp 2024 promises an immersive experience centered around horses and riders. Led by a team of dedicated volunteers, each with a wealth of experience in the equestrian world, Horse Camp 2024 will feature engaging clinics covering a wide range of disciplines, including:

Halter/Showmanship
Western Pleasure
English Pleasure
Hunter Over Fences
Trail
Barrel Racing/Pole Bending
Horsemanship
Equitation

Whether your child is a complete novice or a seasoned rider, Horse Camp 2024 welcomes participants of all skill levels. It's the perfect opportunity for beginners to dip their toes into the world of horseback riding or for experienced riders to sharpen their skills and expand their horizons.

Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch and water bottles for the day's activities, while snacks will be provided. In adherence to safety standards, all horses attending must have a current coggins. Stallions will not be permitted at the camp, and proper riding attire is mandatory. For activities involving jumping, helmets are required, with safety vests being optional.
