Jo Daviess County 4-H Fair Showcases Youth Talent and Dedication

From July 14–16, 2025, the Jo Daviess County 4-H Fair was alive with energy, creativity, and community spirit. 4-H members from across the county gathered to proudly present their projects, ranging from horses and hens to bunnies and calves—and everything in between.

The fairgrounds buzzed with activity as younger members joined the 4-H Federation’s annual Cloverbud Round-Up, while older youth impressed judges with their entries in general project areas such as visual arts, aerospace, food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, horticulture, floriculture, natural resources, photography, woodworking, and more.

More than just an event, the fair is a celebration of months—and sometimes years—of learning, growth, and achievement. It offers 4-H members a chance to share their hard work with the community and gain valuable feedback from experts, all while building friendships, confidence, and communication skills.

“The fair is a reflection of the dedication our youth pour into their projects,” said Angela Miller, 4-H Program Coordinator. “It’s not just about ribbons or awards—it’s about recognizing the journey, the learning, and the pride in what they’ve accomplished. I am so proud of every member that participated and can't wait to see what they bring next year!”

As the fair wrapped up, it left behind more than just ribbons and awards—it created lasting memories, strengthened community bonds, and inspired future goals. The Jo Daviess County 4-H Fair continues to be a cornerstone event that celebrates positive youth development and the power of hands-on learning.
