Keep Your Brain Healthy With Monthly Brain Health Exercise Class

STERLING, Il-Keep your brain fit and healthy in 2020! Current research indicates that challenging the brain is one of several things you can do to contribute to your own brain health as you age.   Challenging activities is one way to train your brain and keep your wits fit!

The University of Illinois Extension offers a monthly Wits Fitness Brain Exercises in Morrison, Sterling, Mt. Carroll and Thomson.  Join Extension Educator Karla Belzer as she leads participants through interactive activities designed to exercise the brain to maintain and enhance cognitive function and memory.  The monthly classes are held at the following locations:

Mondays at the O’Dell Public Library, 307 South Madison Street, Morrison, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Class dates for 2020 are: April 20, May 11, June 15, July 13, August 10, October 19, November 9, and December 14.  There is no class in the month of September.

Thursdays at both the Sterling Public Library and the Whiteside County Senior Center.   Wits Fitness will be held at the Sterling Public Library from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and at the Whiteside County Senior Center from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Class dates for 2020 are:March 26, April 23, June 25, July 22, August 27, September 24, October 22, and December 17.

Thomson Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Class dates for 2020 are: March 30, May 7, June 24, July 20, September 3, October 1, November 5, and December 3.   There will not be class in April or August.

Mt. Carroll Public Library from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Class dates for 2020 are:  March 5, March 31, May 7, June 1, July 2, September 3, October 1, November 5, and December 3.   There will not be class in April or August.

Each monthly class is free and open to the public!
