Kids Heading to the Kitchen with 4-H Cooking 101

CERRO GORDO: This summer, University of Illinois Extension invites youth to put their taste buds to the test with 4-H Cooking 101. With the help of a 4-H Teen Teacher, students will learn about food and kitchen safety, practice measuring and using equipment and make and sample tasty dishes like scalloped corn, coffee cake and Mexican layered dip.

4-H Cooking 101 is a six-session free hands-on program for youth entering 3rd to 6th grade. It's Tuesday to Thursday for two weeks starting July 30 at the Cerro Gordo Civic Center, located at 304 N. St. Cerro Gordo, IL. The club is free, but please sign up by July 26 at go.illinois.edu/dmp or call Piatt County 4-H at (217) 762-2191.
