DECATUR, Ill.— Do you have an aspiring actor or playwright in your family who has been looking for an opportunity to express their creativity? Macon County 4-H and Pipe Dreams Theatre will provide the perfect outlet. The second session of Little Dreamers, a 6-week performing arts program, will be 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays from February 10 to March 25 at Pipe Dreams Theatre on Millikin University’s campus 1099 W. Wood St., Decatur. Children in grades 2-6 are invited to attend. The fee for this program is $5 for 4-H members and $25 for non-members.
Children who participate in theatre programs strengthen valuable communication and social skills and also have increased self-esteem and confidence in their academic abilities. Drama can also help improve reading and comprehension skills.
Current Pipe Dreams company members will teach acting technique, scene writing, stage blocking, costume design and more during the 6-week program. Register online or call (217) 877-6042 by February 7. Space is limited so register early.
