Piatt County 4-H and Sundrop Alpacas Host Class

MONTICELLO — Craft a gift for someone special or the person that is hard to buy for at this co-sponsored Piatt County 4-H and Sundrop Alpacas Project SPARK Holiday Fiber Frenzy workshop. Youth ages 8 to 18 are welcome to attend this event which begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December 19 at the Piatt County Extension Office 210 S. Market St. Monticello, IL.

Stephanie Block, from Sundrop Alpacas Farms, will lead this Project SPARK workshop. Stephanie will teach participants how to needle felt which is the process of transforming wool into 3D objects using a barbed needle. Each workshop participant will “felt” a small item that will be taken home at the end of class.

This class is open to the public. There is a small fee to cover supplies for this event. Register by December 16 at go.illinois.edu/dmp or call (217) 762-2191.

The 4-H program is provided through University of Illinois Extension and is open to youth ages 8 to 18. Youth learn skills for living by participating in individual or group learning experiences related to more than 200 project areas. Find Piatt County 4-H on Facebook.
