Youth Naturalist Program offered

Learn about nature at Wee Nats (Wee Naturalists) a fun, interactive program for youth ages 4-7. Learn about different environmental education topics through a story, activity, craft, and hike. University of Illinois Extension 4-H Youth Educator, Kelly Lafferty, will lead the program at the University of Illinois Extension office, located at Highland Community College (building R), 2998 W. Pearl City Road, Freeport. Each program will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and an adult must stay with the youth during the program.

Program dates and topics are Sept. 2 – Caterpillars; Oct. 7 - Spiders; Nov. 11 - Super Soil; Dec. 2 – Habitats; Jan. 6 - Winter Wonderland; Feb. 3 – Stargazing; Mar. 2 - March Winds; April 6 – Prairies; May 4 – Wildflowers. Please dress according to the weather as we will spend time in nature.
