FREEPORT, Ill.--Learn about nature at Wee Nats (Wee Naturalists), a fun interactive program for youth ages 4-7. Youth will learn about different environmental education topics through a story, activity, craft, and hike. University of Illinois Extension 4-H Youth Educator Kelly Lafferty will offer the program on the first Saturday of the month (except in November) at the U of I Extension located in Building R at Highland Community College (use parking lot B), 2998 W. Pearl Road, Freeport. Each program will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 am. An adult must stay with the youth during the program. Cost: $5 per session.
Program dates and topics include: September 7 -Super Soil, October 5–Owls, November 9-Fallen Log, December 7 –Turtles, January 4-Sensational Snow, February 1-Groundhogs,
March 1–Trees, April 5–Birds, May 3–Wetlands.
