This 4-H SPIN Club (SPIN stands for "special interest") focuses on teaching youth how to be safe, build skills, and have fun outdoors.

Youth will visit local forested areas and explore topics such as:

  • Fishing
  • Safe fire-building
  • Outdoor cooking & meals
  • Compass & map use
  • Ecology & animals around us
  • Wilderness planning & packs
  • Basic first aid
  • Tying knots

First session meets 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021 at Harris Forest Preserve, 10460 Route 71, Yorkville IL 60560. Registration required. Space may be limited.

Ages: 8-18 | Cost: $45* per participant. *Includes $25 materials fee (to be paid at registration) and a one-time, annual $20 4-H enrollment for the 2021-22 4-H year (to be paid via 4-H Online when it opens this fall)
