Clark County youth ages 8-18 as of September 1, 2021, are invited to participate in a day of 4-H Shooting Sports FUNdamentals. Come try out the different disciplines we offer including air rifle, air pistol, archery, shotgun, and hunting and outdoor skills. Participants and parents can enjoy lunch and complete the mandatory parent meeting! Registration is required by March 11 for everyone who plans to attend.
Date: Saturday, March 19, 2022
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Shotgun will be offered from 1-2 p.m. for youth ages 10+ as of Sept. 1, 2021)
Location: Clark County Sportsmans Club east of Marshall, IL (directions: From the intersection of Route 1 and US 40 in Marshall, head east on US 40. Turn left onto 1800 Street. Follow signs to the Y, and take the left leg to reach the Clubhouse.)
If you are a returning Shooting Sports 4-H'er who does not want to explore other disciplines, please just have a parent attend the mandatory parent meeting at noon. We are also seeking experienced Shooting Sports youth to volunteer to help at each station. Please select the appropriate box if you are volunteering and not participating.
The projected schedule for the day:
8:30-9 a.m. - Registration
9-9:15 a.m. - Required safety briefing with 4-H'ers and Sportsmans Club members
9:15-10 a.m. - First discipline
10:15 - 11 a.m. - Second discipline
11:15 a.m. - Noon - Third discipline
Noon - 12:15 p.m. - Youth pick up lunch and report to Hunting & Outdoor Skills Station
Noon - 1 p.m. - Mandatory parent meeting & lunch
12:15 - 1 p.m. - Youth participate in Hunting & Outdoor Skills Station & each lunch
1 - 2 p.m. - Shotgun discipline for youth 10+ only
