The East Central Illinois Master Naturalists and Champaign County Climate Coalition invite you to join us for a Happy Hour Hike, the final Friday of the month from 5-6 pm at local natural areas. These meet-ups are designed to be low key opportunities to enjoy a walk and talk with conservation-minded folks in our region. Whether you are just getting curious about our local environment or it is your full-time job, anyone is welcome to join. You will be in the company of others who enjoy sustainability and climate-related activities and conversation. Everyone is welcome! People from environmental groups, businesses, government, academia, and individuals are invited—and should bring friends!

This month we will explore Buffalo Trace Prairie at Lake of the Woods Park in Mahomet. We will meet at 5 pm on October 28 at the Buffalo Trace parking lot at Lake of the Woods Park in Mahomet. There is no registration necessary, just swing by the meeting location at 5 p.m.

Further events and information can be found on the Champaign County Climate Coalition Facebook Page, or feel free to reach out to Amanda at achriste@illinois.edu or by phone at 217-333-7672.

This event is part of Climate Action Week. This week will be full of engaging opportunities to learn about climate change causes and effects, local impacts, and how to be part of the solution! There will be programs and workshops throughout the week, ending with a celebration at Crystal Lake Park that will feature live music, guided hikes and more! Climate Action Week is brought to you in partnership with the Champaign County Climate Coalition (C4). For more information, contact sydonovan@urbanaparks.org or 217-384-4062.
