Into the Woods
Please join us as we celebrate the memory of Carolyn Mason and her love of the natural world. A fun and educational day is planned including native ink making, creating a woodland picture frame, an optional birding hike and you won't want to miss the keynote speaker, Chris Benda-The Illinois Botanizer, as he enthralls us with his talk about the Ecology of Spring Ephemeral Wildflowers. Space is limited so register quickly.

Optional Second Saturday Regulars birding hike from 7am - 8am

  • 7:00-8:00 am - Optional Birding Hike
  • 8:00-8:30 am - Registration
  • 8:30-9:00 am - Continental Breakfast
  • 9:00-10:15 am - Keynote Speaker: Chris Benda (Illinois Botanizer) speaks on The Ecology of Spring Ephemeral Wildflowers
  • 10:15-11:15 am - Session 2: Native Ink Making: Learn how to make native ink using natural ingredients and create a piece of art with it. 
  • 11:15 am-12:15 pm - Session 3: Creating a Woodland Picture Frame: Make a decorative picture frame to hold your ink artwork out of natural treasures from the forest. 

The cost includes all activities and breakfast.
