Food insecurity remains a pressing concern for many individuals across the Metro East, where reliable access to affordable, nutritious food is often elusive. In response to this ongoing issue, the Metro East Food Pantry Coalition is calling on community members to contribute healthy food donations to local food pantries, aiming to alleviate local food insecurity.
Join the Metro East Food Pantry Coalition in putting a drop in the bucket to end summer hunger by donating shelf stable items from the five MyPlate food group. Items collected include grains, protein, dairy, fruits, and vegetables, along with basic necessities and seasonings.
Donors are encouraged to prioritize nutritious foods identified as high-need items by local food pantries, ultimately enhancing the quality of food available to pantry clients. Donations will be collected at the following locations:
