Ignite a passion for cooking and culinary creativity! This Special Interest (SPIN) Club offers a fantastic opportunity for children to develop essential life skills through hands-on kitchen experiences. The club will meet the second Tuesday of each month from October through March 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon and is open to all interested children, ages 8-18. Participants will learn about cooking, explore a variety of kitchen tools and appliances, and discover the fun of working collaboratively in a team setting. Lee County Master Gardeners will guide club members through a series of engaging activities, using produce grown in the garden, including:

  • Cooking Basics: Understanding fundamental cooking techniques and food safety.
  • Kitchen Tools and Appliances: Hands-on experience with mixers, blenders, measuring tools, and more.
  • Creative Recipes: Experimenting with new ingredients and creating delicious dishes.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Working together to plan, prepare, and enjoy meals.

There is a $30 supply fee for 4-H members. Annual 4-H enrollment is $20. Register by visiting go.illinois.edu/Lee4HKitchen or contacting Lee County 4-H Program Coordinator Katie Baker at 815-857-3525 or kmcbr2@illinois.edu.
