Transform your garden into a pollinator-friendly, sustainable haven with the Native Landscape Design Workshop! This two-part program will guide participants in redesigning a defined garden area in their own yards using native plants. Learn how to create a beautiful, eco-friendly space that supports local pollinators and promotes environmental sustainability.
Part 1 kicks off with a virtual session on January 9 at 6:30 pm, focusing on the critical role of pollinators and native plants in our ecosystems. Participants will receive instructions for selecting and measuring their garden plots in preparation for the hands-on workshop. Participants are highly encouraged to attend this workshop before attending the second part, but a recording will be available for those unable to attend.
In Part 2, attendees will apply what they’ve learned during an in-person session of their choice. These workshops, held at various dates and locations in Vermilion and Champaign Counties, provide guidance on drafting a personalized garden layout, selecting plants from curated palettes of native species, and developing a sustainable garden design. Attendees are required to bring measurements of their garden space to this session.
