SOIL LOVES COMPOST!
Celebrate International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) and learn about the many benefits of this naturally produced soil amendment. We're giving away a truckload of locally-made, nutrient-rich compost to residents to help spread the love in your vegetable gardens, flowerbeds, planters, and lawns. Your soil will love you for it!
• University of Illinois Extension Lake County, Master Gardeners, & SWALCO (Solid Waste Agency of Lake County), will be hosting this event and giving away rich, locally-made compost to residents.
• Visit the Ask a Master Gardener Booth!
• Pick up materials on composting and gardening. Plus FREE SWAG!
• Learn more about composting, climate, conservation, soil, and more —for all ages!
Maximum of 20 gallons per household. Please bring your own buckets. Shovels provided. Compost is available while supplies last.
