4-H members from Edgar County excel at Illinois State Fair

Paris, Ill. - 4-H members from Edgar County exhibited their general and livestock projects at this year's Illinois State Fair, alongside 4-H'ers from across the state. Thirty-nine members were chosen to advance to the State Fair after exhibiting outstanding project work at the local 4-H show earlier this summer.

Seventeen local exhibitors received special awards at the State Fair for their excellent project work.

Champion Medal - awarded to the exhibitor with the highest score in each class on each exhibit day: Alison Cash - Visual Arts Quilting; Abigail Mood - Visual Arts Fiber; and Gage Wright - Cooking 101.

Reserve Champion Medal - awarded to the exhibitor with the second highest score in each class on each exhibit day: Olivia Carroll - Theatre Arts 1; Addison Hansel - Food Decorating Intermediate; and William Sullivan - Tractor A.

Inspire Award - given at the judge's discretion to exhibitors who presented inspirational, innovative, or unique exhibits: Desha Lankster - Food Decorating Intermediate; Emily Milburn - Civic Engagement 3; and Ralynn Tate - Vegetable Plate.

Those placing in the 4-H Jr. Livestock Division include: Breeding Beef Females, Angus Heifers: Reese Anderson 2nd and 1st; Swine, Crossbred Barrows: Hallee Rhoads - 9th , 2nd, and 1st and Hugar Morrisey - 7th; Duroc Barrow: Meredithe Morrisey - 3rd; Poland China Barrow: Mackenzie Burgin - 2nd; Breeding Swine, Berkshire Gilt: Krayten Trogdon - 3rd; Crossbred Gilts Barrow: Krayten Trogdon - 1st and 1st and Hallee Rhoads - 1st and 1st; Duroc Gilt: Krayten Trogdon - 3rd; Hampshire Gilt: Hallee Rhoads - 3rd; Hereford Gilt: Bryan Kohlmeyer - 3rd; Tamworth Gilt: Bryan Kohlmeyer - 4th; Poland China Gilt: Mackenzie Burgin - 3rd and Cole Webster 2nd and 1st; Spotted Swine Gilt: Cole Webster - 1st, 1st, 1st, and Champion and Bryan Kohlmeyer - 3rd; Yorkshire Gilt: Hallee Rhoads - 3rd; Beef Land of Lincoln, Angus Heifers: Reese Andeson - 2nd and 1st; Swine Land of Lincoln, Duroc Barrow: Meredithe Morrisey - 3rd; Poland China Barrow: Mackenzie Burgin - 2nd; Breeding Swine, Bershire Gilt: Krayten Trogdon - 2nd; Duroc Gilt: Krayten Trogdon - 2nd; Hampshire Gilt: Hallee Rhoads - 3rd; Hereford Gilt: Bryan Kohlmeyer - 1st; Poland China Gilt: Mackenzie Burgin - 3rd and Cole Webster 2nd and 1st; Spotted Swine Gilt: Cole Webster - 1st and 1st; Tamworth Gilt: Bryan Kohlmeyer - 4th; and Yorkshire Gilt: Hallee Rhoads - 2nd.
