This Autumn, Fill Your Heart with Gratitude and Your Home with the Scent of Holiday Spices

Fall is a great time to spread kindness and be thankful for each unrepeatable day. Research has consistently associated greater happiness and wellbeing with gratitude. Gratitude fosters more positive emotions, improves health, and allows you to deal with life’s challenges.

We can cultivate more gratitude in our lives by being thankful for past and present experiences while staying optimistic about the future.

Join University of IL Extension and 4-H for this fall-themed, make-at-home project. The November I MADE That cooking education kit will inspire your youth to embrace gratitude and appreciation while learning new skills in the kitchen this fall.

The November kits will include easy fall recipes to make your home smell amazing, featuring spiced apple star bread and spiced holiday nuts. You will receive pomander ball supplies, a gratitude journal, and select recipe ingredients to get started.  This project is ideal for families to work on together or for youth with cooking experience.

Register now for this November program. Kits are $5 and will be available for pick-up beginning November 3 at our Extension offices in Jo Daviess, Stephenson & Winnebago Counties. Register early to reserve your educational kit by calling our office at  (815) 235-4125, or visit us online at go.illinois.edu/jswIMadeThat. The registration deadline is Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
