Kids can turn just about anything into a toy. Think back to when you were a child, and you made a fort out of blankets or a grocery store from big boxes. The best toys are unrestricted with no rules.
Sometimes we take a simple toy for granted. Illinois Extension wants to share a week dedicated to engaging youth in play with you. National LEGO® Day is Friday, January 28, 2022, and we are hosting LEGO® Week from January 24-28. We will end the week with a 45-minute online chat via Zoom, where the local host will take you on a virtual tour of a LEGO® factory, and you can share your favorite LEGO® creation.
Legos are a cost-effective toy with limitless possibilities that improve spatial intelligence and hand-eye coordination. Follow our Facebook page @uiextensioncce that week for daily posts with a LEGO® challenge, then share photos of your creations in the comments. Sign up for the Zoom link at go.illinois.edu/LegoDay2022 to participate in the online event on National LEGO® Day.
If you need reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact the Illinois Extension office at 217-826-5422.
