Edgar County 4-H invites families to fall festival during National 4-H Week

Paris, Ill. - 4-H is empowering youth and preparing them for future success, and they are inviting local youth to join the club!

Illinois 4-H challenges youth to "learn by doing" with fun, hands-on activities in which kids can learn, practice, and demonstrate new skills while exploring the interests that are important to them.

In Edgar County, more than a dozen 4-H clubs led by caring adults welcome youth ages 8-18 to become part of the larger 4-H family. There are also clubs for special interests, such as shooting sports and robotics, and clubs that serve our youngest members, ages 5-7, in Cloverbud clubs.

"We are inviting current 4-H families and those interested in learning more about joining 4-H to a Fall Fest on October 6," says Maria Crandell, 4-H program coordinator for Edgar County. "We will have information about joining 4-H and Cloverbuds, along with a caramel apple bar and family-friendly activities."

This free event will be held at the Edgar County 4-H Fairgrounds in Paris from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 6. Online registration is requested at go.illinois.edu/fallfestival to help plan for supplies and food. This event is part of the more extensive National 4-H Week, October 2-8. The theme for 2022 is Opportunity4All.
