Extension Offers Child Care University for Child Care Professionals

Early childhood educators, childcare providers, and other interested individuals are invited to participate in the annual Child Care University Early Childhood Conference.  Presented by University of Illinois Extension in partnership with Community Coordinated Child Care and Sauk Valley Community College, Child Care University is a day of learning geared toward childcare professionals. 

Featuring a variety of sessions on timely and relevant childcare topics, Child Care University supports childcare practitioners in providing quality childcare.  This full day of learning and sharing of ideas helps childcare providers and early childhood educators to enrich the quality of care provided to both children and families.  Keynote speaker, Marilyn Brink, Director of Professional Development and Preschool Programs for the Chicago Zoological Society at Brookfield Zoo, will provide an interactive and powerful session on Nature Play.  Breakout session topics include play based learning, parent engagement, child development, art, science, and other relevant topics.       

Child Care University will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sauk Valley Community College, 173 IL Route 2, Dixon.  Cost of the daylong seminar is $35 and includes lunch.  Attendees will earn professional development credits towards their Illinois Gateways registry.  Pre-registration is required by February 21.  To register, visit: go.illinois.edu/ChildCareU.  For more information, contact Karla Belzer at 815-632-3611 or kbelzer@illinois.edu.
