Emma Stull joined Illinois Extension in September 2023 as part of the SNAP-Ed program, charged with fostering better health in communities throughout northwest Illinois. Her responsibilities include nutrition education, encouraging physical activity for children and adults, and stretching eligible families’ food dollars. She enjoys sharing low-cost, simple ways to add nutritious foods and recipes to families’ diets.
Before joining Extension, Emma worked for Johnson’s Processing Plant in Chadwick, Illinois, and was responsible for food safety and office management. She worked in food safety at Spectrum Preferred Meats, Mt. Morris, Illinois as well. Her background also includes several years caring for animals at a veterinary clinic. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Emma is a fifth-generation member of her family’s beef cattle farm in Polo, Illinois, and has started her own poultry farm. When she is not busy serving Extension or farming, she and her husband, Zac, continue to renovate the farmhouse her great-grandparents first bought in the 1930s. Emma’s other hobbies include gardening, caring for her Border Collies and rescue cats, and sewing pet bandanas, leashes, and other accessories.
