Lisa Torrance is a native of McDonough County and lives in Macomb, Illinois. While growing up Lisa participated in 4-H and was a 10 year member of the Center Stars 4-H club where she showed both beef and swine. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She also holds a master’s degree in elementary/gifted education from Western Illinois University. Prior to joining the team at Illinois Extension Lisa taught middle school for several years.
Lisa serves as the county extension director for the University of Illinois Extension in Henderson, Knox, McDonough and Warren counties. She is passionate about youth programming, disaster preparedness, and assisting the communities that she serves. Lisa is trained in REAL Colors, MyPI Illinois, and Ready in the Middle. She is a delegate to Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN), and is active in Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP), and the Joint Council of Extension Professionals (JCEP). Locally she serves on the board for One Human Family.
