University of Illinois Extension is partnering with Friends of the Shawnee and the USDA Shawnee National Forest Service to host our annual fall Trash Blasts at various locations in the Shawnee National Forest. Small teams of volunteers will collect litter and remove graffiti at the assigned locations. Keeping our forest clean will help our environment and provide a cleaner future for tomorrow. The first trash blast will be on Bean Ridge Road in Alexander County.

If you are a Master Naturalist or Master Gardener and would like to participate in this event, please wear sturdy shoes, bring your own work gloves, wear long pants, and closed toe shoes. Trash buckets and trash grabbers will be provided for volunteers to use during the trash blast. This event is limited to 40 participants.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact
