Monday, Feb. 19 (Presidents Day) | 1:30-3 p.m. | Naperville

Public speaking is a lifelong skill that can help young people now and in the future!

Growing this skill set can help:

  • Enhance planning and organizational abilities
  • Increase comfort for school presentations and job or scholarship interviews
  • Encourage leadership roles and opportunities
  • Improve communications skills
  • Increase self-discipline and confidence

Instructor Maria Boundas Bakalis, Ed.D, Professor of Communications at Waubonsee Community College and Director of Curtain Up Classroom Theatre, will lead this special Presidents Day workshop focused on public speaking. With her expert, engaging, and encouraging style, Dr. B helps youth build self-esteem and skills for the art of public speaking.

Why practice public speaking?
Youth who practice their public speaking skills now gain increased comfort and are more likely to experience success when it’s time for school presentations, job and college interviews, and more.
