Heart disease is the leading cause of death for U.S. adults, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Changes to lifestyle, including food choices, can improve symptoms like high blood cholesterol and high blood pressure. In "Heart Smart Eating," learn about 4 categories of nutrients - sodium, fat, added sugar, and fiber - and how each impacts heart health. Attendees will develop skills to support shopping and cooking heart-healthy meals.

In case of inclement weather, the class will be held on February 11.

Please register by January 31 with the Maroa Public Library by calling 217-794-5111
