Food Preservation… for Kids?

Join us for the Food Preservation Program for Kids hosted at the Kankakee County Extension Office (1650 Commerce Drive, Bourbonnais, IL 60914). 

Sessions will start at 9 am and last approximately 1.5- 2 hours

June 12th : Welcome and Overview

Learn proper food handling skills and preparation work for food preservation. 

June 26th : Freezer Jam

Learn how to and make your own freezer jam. 

July 10th : Spice it up! Part 1

Learn how to dehydrate foods and herbs

July 17th : Spice it up! Part 2

Learn how to make your own spice mixtures

August 7th : Fruit Leather

Learn how to make your own fruit leather

August 14th : Fridge Pickles

Make your own pickles in the fridge
