Round 2!

Due to the popularity of the Night Pollinators event we held in June, we are repeating the event, this time with an expert entomologist, to reach more people. We will also explore a different location within Urbana, IL.
All are welcome to Meadowbrook Park on August 1, 2025, to enjoy the natural world at night! Meet Extension Educators Karla Griesbaum and Sreelakshmi Suresh at the Race Street Parking Lot at Meadowbrook Park (2808 S Race St., Urbana, IL) at 8:00 pm and set up a sheet lighting activity for when we return from our hike. The sheet will attract night pollinators such as moths and beetles that we can view and identify. We will also learn about how humans are affecting these underappreciated pollinators as we hike through the woods. Bring a flashlight and your favorite bug spray (we will also supply some). All ages are welcome; wear good hiking shoes and long pants.
For reasonable accommodation to participate, contact Karla Griesbaum, kherzma2@illinois.edu
