
Join the Kane County Master Gardeners who volunteer at Sherman Natural Prairie and Community Garden for Composting 101 on Wednesday, Sept. 10. This FREE afternoon program includes a classroom presentation followed by hands-on instruction in the Sherman Community Garden.
What will I learn?
- How composting benefits our garden and our community
- Basic components of composting
- Mechanics of composting
- Setting up a composting system at home
- How to use compost in your garden or yard
When: Wednesday, September 10, 2025
Time: 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Advocate Sherman Hospital, 1425 N. Randall Rd., Elgin. Park at the main hospital entrance.
Important notes:
- Registration required for each person. Space is limited. No cost for this program.
- Please come dressed for weather and work, as this event includes hands-on in the garden, as well as in-class instruction.
- Continuing Education Master Gardener Credit: 2.5 Credit Hours
