Soft Landings are landscaped areas beneath native trees designed to support beneficial insects throughout their life cycles. Join us at the Dunn Museum in Libertyville to learn how to create a Soft Landing in your own yard, including guidance on installation, plant selection, and ongoing maintenance. As part of this session, we’ll also tour the For the Love of Pollinators temporary exhibit.
Presented in partnership with The Bee Collective of Columbus, Ohio, this exhibition celebrates the essential role pollinators play in healthy ecosystems. For the Love of Pollinators showcases more than 30 sculptural works from around the world, highlighting both the beauty of pollinators and their importance to our communities.
The exhibit features pollinators native to Lake County and explores how they thrive in local forest preserves—and even in your own backyard. Visitors will discover simple, practical ways to support these species in their natural habitats.
