Peggy Anesi, formerly Doty, received her BS in zoology with a specialization in wildlife management from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She also holds a Master of Education from Northern Illinois University.  There, she specialized in curriculum and instruction. Her interests are the people and wildlife interfaces where conflict can occur with wildlife interactions.  Anesi is also passionate about helping native pollinators through programming and is fascinated with how the human race treats its water supply.

Before her position as unit Educator for Boone, DeKalb, and Ogle counties, she was the Natural Resource Educator for DeKalb County. Combined, she has worked for Extension for the last 20 years.

Anesi received the 2007 Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Northern Illinois University’s College of Education. The award was for her contributions to outdoor and environmental education.

Anesi's community involvement includes co-chairing the DeKalb County Community Foundation’s Land Use committee.  Since its inauguration, she has been a committee member and can bring knowledge, experiences, and resources as an Extension employee.  She continues to be an Associate Director on the DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District board.
