Join Champaign County Master Gardeners and University of Illinois Extension for "Making Green Sustainable: Strategies for the Morton Arboretum and Beyond" on Tues., Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. CT via zoom or phone call in. In this presentation, you will learn from Rachel Novick, PhD, LEED AP, who is the Director of Sustainability at the Morton Arboretum.

Sustainability strategies are common in higher education and in the corporate world, but surprisingly less so among non-profit organizations, including those with an explicitly environmental focus. However, having a solid sustainability strategy is equally important for such organizations.

This talk will explore current sustainability initiatives and future plans at the Morton Arboretum, including the development of public education programs to engage visitors with sustainability in their own lives.

Join us to learn about how Morton Arboretum is:

  • Working to ensure trees thrive as the climate changes, both in the Chicago region and around the world.
  • Building knowledge about what climate change will likely mean for trees and using that knowledge to help trees thrive.
  • Committed to providing tools, best practices, and learning opportunities to inspire action for trees.

This presentation will be recorded and made available on our YouTube channel, https://go.illinois.edu/ccmgYouTube once edited and close captioned.

Should you need accommodations to participate, please contact Randy Barton at rsbarton@illinois.edu.
