"Set the Stage" mini-camp teaches acting skills and explores theatre arts. Come expand your imagination and grow as an actor!
Each day, we will focus on a different skills through fun, hands-on activities such as:
- Ice breakers and tongue twisters
- Becoming a character
- Reader's Theater
- Using our voice and emotions
- Scene work, and improvisation
Ages: 8-12
Dates: Monday-Thursday, Aug. 5-8 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day
Location: Kane County Extension Office, 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles IL 60174
Cost to participate: $20 per youth
About the instructor: Katie McFarland recently wrapped her 15th show as part of a directing team, which includes shows like "Beauty and the Beast," "Peter Pan," and "High School Musical" with CYT. She has been teaching music since 2012, including piano, voice, and audition coaching. She also taught theater at a local private school for four years, and she holds a degree in the arts from NYU.
