Kane County Master Gardener Seed Swap and Make-and-Take Event

Do you want to expand your gardens, or are you new to gardening? Get a jump on the growing season with the 1st Kane County Master Gardener Community Seed Swap and Make-and-Take event on Saturday, Jan. 25.

  • Join us to learn about and try winter sowing, seed balls, and microgreen projects!
  • Choose from a variety of vegetable, flower, and herb seeds to take home.
    • If gardeners would like to bring seeds to share, they should be fresh and labeled, and not from F1 hybrids, so they grow true to type.
    • All seeds collected pre-event will be labeled and come with care instructions.
  • Get advice and learn about cover crops with Local Food Systems and Small Farms Educator Alexis Barnes.
  • Master Gardeners also will be available to answer questions.
  • Registration is required for this event at the U of I Extension office in Kane County, 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles IL 60174.
  • For questions or if you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, call the office at 630-584-6166 or email stojand@illinois.edu
