Certified Food Protection Managers, Group of cooks pictured wearing aprons in kitchen
Businesses serving food in Illinois must have staff trained as Certified Food Protection Managers. This two-day course will cover the federal food code, including topics of safe food handling, proper cooking temperatures, employee hygiene, and facility safety, and prepare students to take a national exam on the second day of class. Participants must attend both days of class. Certificates must be renewed every five years. Please bring a valid photo ID to the exam. There is a $50/person fee associated with this program. The course fee covers the cost of class materials and the exam. If you need a reader or translator, contact the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals at 800.446.0257 or customer.service@nrfsp.com. If registering multiple people from the same organization, sign up each person separately.
If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact
