The University of Illinois Extension will host an introduction to Community and School Gardens with additional resources to use to apply for grants.

This introduction session to the online course is open to everyone who wants to strengthen their community through shared learning, collaboration, and the power of growing food together. Whether you're a teacher, school staff member, parent, caregiver, youth mentor, volunteer, or a community member dedicated to supporting local families, you are welcome and valued here.

Together, we’ll explore how school and community gardens can serve as vibrant hubs of connection—places where people of all ages come together to learn, create, and care for shared spaces. You’ll discover how gardens support, building environmental awareness, promote healthy eating, and cultivate teamwork, responsibility, and curiosity across the entire community.

During this 1.5-hour-long session, we’ll highlight the benefits of taking this online course and the resources that will be available to you. Sign up and bring your adult neighbors and friends to learn more.
