Get outdoors and learn new skills this spring break!
Join us for a four-part workshop series to teach youth how to have fun and be safe outdoors. Participants will explore topics such as:
- First aid (make-and-take personal kits)
- Fire-making
- Animal tracking
- All about birds (identification and feeder-making)
- Tying knots and lashing
Ages: 8 to 18 (as of 9/1/25)
Meets: 1 to 3 p.m. each day from Monday, March 23 to Thursday, March 26
Pro Tip: Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.
Location: Kendall County Extension Office, 7775B IL Route 47, Yorkville, IL 60560, with potential to meet some days at other Yorkville outdoor sites.
Special Note: Parents are welcome to stay when at the Extension Office, but are required to do so if at other Yorkville outdoor sites.
Cost to participate: $20 per youth for the 8-hour experience. Registration is required, and space may be limited.
