at Zion-Benton Library
SNAP rules have recently changed, and residents are invited to learn more and share how these updates are impacting their households. University of Illinois Extension, in partnership with the Illinois Commission to End Hunger, Zion Township, The Job Center, and IDHS, will host this event at Zion-Benton Library (2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion) on Monday, June 1.
The evening will begin with a listening session from 5:30–6:45 p.m., followed by a free workshop from 6:45–7:30 p.m. Designed for individuals and families eligible for SNAP, Medicaid, and other assistance programs—especially those required to work a set number of hours to maintain benefits—this event offers an opportunity to share feedback, explore potential solutions, and gain guidance on navigating the new rules. All attendees will receive a free can opener and light refreshments. Please register to attend.
