Anthony Warmack serves as the communications and marketing program coordinator for University of Illinois Extension in Grundy, Kankakee, and Will counties, where he leads strategic outreach and storytelling efforts.

A storyteller by profession, Anthony believes that everyone has a story worth telling. Through strategic communications, media outreach, partnerships, and digital engagement, he works to translate university expertise into meaningful, community-centered narratives that create lasting impact.

In addition to his work with Extension, Anthony is a nationally published freelance journalist and science writer. He has written for Scientific American, Massachusetts General Hospital, Massive Science, and numerous other regional and national publications. He specializes in making complex topics accessible and engaging for broad audiences, with a focus on public health, science, and community issues.

Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from Oregon State University with an individualized focus in informal interpretation and communication. This unique blend of science and storytelling laid the foundation for his career, equipping him to make scientific knowledge approachable, relevant, and meaningful to diverse audiences.

Prior to joining the communications team, Anthony served as the Will County 4-H Program Coordinator where he focused on innovative outreach strategies to grow programs.  Anthony is a 4-H alum and was heavily involved in 4-H throughout high school and into college, serving on the Illinois 4-H Foundation Board, Youth Leadership Team, and many other state and national committees.
