Tibbs graduated with a master’s degree from Illinois State University. His thesis research focused on farmers utilizing precision agriculture technologies to conduct on-farm experiments. He has authored articles in the Journal of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, as well as Agricultural & Environmental Letters.
Tibbs comes from a farming background. His family has been raising shorthorn cattle in Logan County for over 58 years, and the family has been farming for over 100 years. He was an active member of the Hollanders 4-H Club and the Lincoln FFA Chapter, receiving his State FFA Degree in 2017. Tibbs attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated with bachelor’s degrees in agriculture communications and political science in 2021.
“I have always had a passion for advocating for farmers and helping them navigate the tightrope that is agricultural production,” said Tibbs. “I am excited to be a resource and offer assistance to farmers in Logan, Menard, and Sangamon counties. I look forward to building more connections with farmers and other key stakeholders and providing educational opportunities on various agricultural production topics.”
