Community donations make the Winter Gear Drive a success in Ogle County

OREGON, Ill. – The first “Spread the Warmth: Winter Gear Drive” was successful, thanks to generous donations. Ogle County 4-H and the Oregon Avalanche Softball Organization thoughtfully collaborated throughout the last month to help keep the community warm this winter. Lifeline Food Pantry and Self-Help is “grateful” for the community’s support. Donations were accepted for new or gently used winter gear of all sizes. Area businesses also contributed to the drive. Compeer Financial donated over $700 of new socks to benefit the pantry. The pantry is inside Conover Square Mall in Oregon and can always take donations of food and clothing.

4-H is an informal youth education program conducted by University of Illinois Extension.  U of I Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment.  If you need reasonable accommodations to participate in 4-H, contact the Ogle County Extension staff at 815-732-2191.

Oregon Avalanche is a fastpitch nonprofit supporting 8-14-year-old girls. The program is part of the all-Oregon Community Unit School District and helps players reach their athletic and personal best.
