Ogle County Extension Master Gardeners are partnering with Flagg-Rochelle Public Library to offer the Native Plant Seed Saving program. Native plants occur naturally and have existed for many years in a particular region. This free workshop is on Thursday, November 14, from 6 to 7 pm at the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library at 619 4th Ave. in Rochelle.
Registered participants will participate in this interactive workshop by exploring the best time to harvest seeds. They will also learn helpful tips and techniques for preserving and germinating the seeds for the upcoming growing season. In addition, there will be discussions on the benefits of incorporating native plants into landscapes, including the advantages and disadvantages of growing native plants.
Register by calling the library at 815-562-3431 or email Ashley at ashleyc@flaggrochellepubliclibrary.org. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, call Connie at 815-758-8194.
