Nan Long has been in customer service her entire career. She provides office support in Kane County, and she is the first point of contact for the public visiting this office.

After owning their own business for 28 years, and farming 18 of those 28 years, Long and her husband John sold their business, for John to farm full time, and Nan joined the Extension team after being a 4-H volunteer for 10 years.

She is a strong believer in giving back! She is a member of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs, a past board member on the Kane County Farm Bureau, and a founding member of the Hinckley Area Food Pantry, where she has been the volunteer Director of Operations for the food pantry for 26 years. Long also is the President of the local FFA Alumni Association and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Hinckley.

Long and her husband have one adult son, Michael, and the family shares a love of all things agriculture-related.
