Sherri Ambrose provides nutrition education to organizations that serve limited-resource families. She leads the EFNEP North team which provides nutrition education to communities from Pilsen and Little Village, up to the northern border of Chicago, and as far west as Melrose Park and Maywood. The EFNEP team works with adults to improve nutrition, food resource management and food safety for families with children.
Ambrose earned her master's degree in Nutrition Science from the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC). Her undergraduate degree is in Education and English.
Ambrose has been dedicated to community education for over a decade, working in community-based organizations, primarily with immigrant adults. This has honed her skills in designing classes based on the needs of adult learners. She believes that every family has the power to have a healthier lifestyle by making nutrition and physical activity choices that fit their family.
