Maddie Olivieri-Rangel is the Extension Program Coordinator for the DuPage County Master Gardener program. Master Gardeners work within their communities to expand local horticultural knowledge and contribute to the beautification and environmental health of community spaces. Maddie assists with Master Gardener training, project planning, continuing education opportunities, and public outreach, and helps support our 120 DuPage County Master Gardener volunteers.
She received her bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from the University of Vermont. She is a certified Master Naturalist through UW-Madison Extension, and is a certified Prescription Burn Crew Member through Chicago Wilderness. She also currently serves on The Conservation Foundation’s Next Gen Advisory Council.
She comes to the University with professional experience in conservation, environmental education, and horticulture. In her previous roles, she has most enjoyed: working with volunteers to carry out a native plant gardening program; managing a nature preserve and nature-based classes for children; and supporting the daily operations of a plant yard at a large nursery. She is excited to continue connecting people to nature through the Master Gardener program.
