The impact of the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) continues to create uncertainty and concern both globally and here in our community. Illinois Extension is in the process of activating strategies with campus to protect everyone’s health and safety.
This week, the University of Illinois announced a suspension on all in-person events and meetings in campus facilities to protect you and our entire community. Illinois Extension, as the outreach program of the university, aligns with all policies related to public health and safety.
As a result of this action, Annie's Project scheduled to begin March 17 in Lewistown, has been cancelled. Those who registered online will receive a refund to your credit card, and those who paid by check or cash will receive a check for your registration from the University of Illinois Extension, in the mail in 2 to 3 weeks. Fulton County Farm Bureau Manager, Elaine Stone and Extension Program Coordinator Christine Belless will notify everyone when we are able to reschedule.
A collection of resources to assist families and community leaders preparing for and coping with COVID-19 is available online at www.go.illinois.edu/ExtensionCOVID19resources.
We are working to support all Illinois families at this time. We appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this situation.
Farm women are generating a cultural tide in American agriculture that is moving management, assets, and opportunities to a new wave of farmers across the country. At Annie's Project courses, farm women become empowered to be better business partners or sole operators through networks and by managing and organizing critical information.
Annie's Project is a six-session course that is a discussion-based workshop bringing women together to learn from experts in production, financial management, human resources, marketing, and the legal field. There's plenty of time for questions, sharing, reacting and connecting with presenters and fellow participants. It's a relaxed, fun and dynamic way to learn, grow and meet other farm women.
Dates for the six-session series will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 17, 19, 24, 26, 31, and April 2, with each session running from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Fulton County Farm Bureau, 15411 N IL 100 Hwy, Lewistown, IL. Check-in will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a light supper being served each evening.
The cost of the program is $50 and is payable by the registration deadline on February 1. If you are an Annie's Project Alumni and would like a refresher, the cost is $30. Checks should be payable to University of Illinois.
Pre-registration is required by March 2, 2020. Online registration link listed on right.
