The last week of July, of every year, is a special week for some winged friends as it’s National Moth Week. This year Illinois Extension has partnered with Stinson Library, USDA Shawnee National Forest, Dixon Springs Agricultural Center, The Science Center of Carbondale, Rend Lake US Army Corps Visitor Center, IDNR Barkhausen Cache River Wetland and Center Giant City State Park to host a week of programs honoring moths.
Moths may not get the same attention that butterflies do but they are no less a beautiful and important part of our world! Come in and see some moths up close, learn the difference between a moth and a butterfly, participate in some moth-themed activities, and gain some appreciation for the humble moth!
