GENOA, Ill. — Gather the family, bundle up, and enjoy a cozy evening outdoors at Nights in Nature, a free program offered by University of Illinois Extension at Russell Woods Forest Preserve.

Families are invited to join Extension staff on Friday, Nov. 13, and Friday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for an evening of campfire songs, snacks, and a guided night hike.

Nights in Nature offers families an opportunity to explore the outdoors together, discover what happens in the forest after dark, and learn more about the natural world in a fun and welcoming setting. Whether you're enjoying songs around the campfire or experiencing the sights and sounds of the forest at night, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

There is no fee to participate. Advance registration is encouraged to help staff plan for refreshments. Register online at go.illinois.edu/nin.

For questions or to request a reasonable accommodation to participate, contact Katie Williamson at krw7@illinois.edu. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet individual needs.
