OREGON, Ill. – The Ogle County 4-H Foundation offers college scholarships to 4-H members who are planning to pursue or are already engaged in further education beyond high school. Any area of study may be pursued whether that is at a college or vocational institution. Winners selected by the Ogle County 4-H Foundation will receive scholarships amounting to $400 per year of full-time course work for a maximum of four years (max of $1600). In addition, the Ogle County Farm Bureau offers the “Stan Eden 4-H Scholarship” which is a one-time award of $1,000 to one 4-H member to pay tribute to Stan Eden who dedicated over 32 years to serving Ogle County Extension and 4-H. These scholarships are offered because both organizations believe in the importance of continuing education. The 2023 scholarship winners were Courtney Bushman, Lauren Carlson, Levi Eden, and Blakelynn Swanson. The 2023 “Stan Eden 4-H Scholarship” was awarded to Lauren Carlson.
