Safe Trick or Treat Night to be held at Havana Jr. High School on October 25, 2019

The 2019 Safe Trick or Treat Night, sponsored by University of Illinois Extension, Mason County 4-H Federation, and Havana Jr High will be held on Friday, October 25 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Havana Jr. High.  Area businesses are invited to participate.  Please note the details for businesses listed below:

  • Agencies are invited to festively decorate a door and give out treats to children up to the age of 14.
  • The event provides a safe, warm environment for parents to bring children for trick-or-treating.
  • There is no charge to participate.
  • Businesses, agencies, and organizations will be responsible for providing your own table, extension cords, and items needed for your space. Please be conscious that many very young children attend, so we ask that you please give age appropriate treats.
  • Plan for at least 600 treats.
  • Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated door and the best costumes/theme of business/agency/organization participants.
  • Mason County 4-H Federation members will be on hand to help participants carry in items and direct you to your door for set-up beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Businesses wanting to participate should contact Mason County Extension office at (309)-543-3308.  Deadline to reserve a door is Friday, October 18 by 4:30 p.m.

Families are invited to bring children in costumes to this event from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event provides a safe, warm environment for families to bring children to trick or treat.

Havana businesses, agencies and organizations will be set up around Havana Jr High School offering treats for kids up to age 14. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.
